Choosing your rebuild contractor · Hampton, GA

The drying company has left. Now you choose who rebuilds your Hampton home.

After a pipe leak, the first company shows up fast and dries the house. The second one puts it back together. That choice is yours, and it shapes the next few months.

What to look for in the contractor who rebuilds.

Reconstruction after a water loss touches drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinets, trim, paint and the plumbing and electrical reconnections, and sometimes framing too. Start with a Georgia general contractor license and ask for the number. Peridot Assist holds GCCO008663.

Then ask how the estimate will be written. A one-line bid is hard to compare to anything. Ours is broken out room by room and item by item, so you can lay it next to your carrier's estimate and see exactly what matches and what was left out. When items are missing, we send the adjuster photos, measurements and pricing for review.

Finally, ask how you will get updates. Every Peridot Assist customer gets a client portal where the schedule, documents, selections and invoices live in one place. A project manager is assigned once the scope is approved, and we meet before the work starts.

Six things to check

Questions to ask before you sign.

And how Peridot Assist answers each one.

Are you a licensed Georgia GC?

Yes. Georgia General Contractor License GCCO008663 and Qualifying Agent License GCQA008662. Both are printed on every estimate and contract.

Have you worked with my carrier?

We work from carrier estimates every week and know how to build scope to them and document what was missed. Questions about your policy itself go to your carrier or agent.

Will the estimate be room by room?

Yes. Each room is its own section, with drywall, insulation, flooring, baseboard, paint, cabinet work and fixture resets broken out.

Who manages the trades?

We do. Drywall, paint, flooring, trim, plumbing and electrical are scheduled in the right order by your project manager, not by you.

How will I get updates?

Through your client portal, with a project manager you can call. You can check on your job any time.

What does a gutted bathroom rebuild include?

Framing repairs, insulation, drywall, the tub or shower, tile, vanity, toilet, flooring, trim and paint, each listed in your scope.

Scope of work

What we do, and what we don't.

Peridot Assist is a licensed Georgia general contractor. We perform reconstruction.

We do not perform water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, smoke or odor treatment, or emergency board-up. That work is completed by licensed specialty firms before we begin. We start once a property has been dried, cleared, and released for rebuild.

Common questions

Hampton questions, answered.

What should I look for in a reconstruction contractor?
A Georgia GC license, experience with insurance claims, a detailed room-by-room estimate and a clear way to get updates.
Do I have to use the contractor my carrier or the drying company suggests?
No. Who rebuilds your home is your decision. The carrier's estimate describes the repairs, not who performs them.
My whole bathroom was gutted. What does the rebuild include?
Typically framing repairs, insulation, drywall, the tub or shower, tile, vanity, toilet, flooring, trim and paint. Each piece is broken out in your scope.
Can I get a second opinion on an estimate I already have?
Yes. Send it over and we will compare it line by line to what is actually in your home.
When do I meet my project manager?
A project manager is assigned once the scope of work is approved, and we set up the meeting then.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Peridot Assist holds Georgia General Contractor License GCCO008663.
