The Drying Is Done in Fayetteville. Now What?

The fans are gone, the drying equipment is packed up, and the drying company has signed off. Drying and reconstruction are two different jobs

The drying company handles the first phase. It stops the water from spreading, removes wet materials and dries the structure. Reconstruction is everything after that: replacing drywall and insulation, installing flooring, rebuilding cabinets, painting and putting trim back on.

Many homeowners assume the drying company will also rebuild. Some do, and many do not. Either way, you get to choose who rebuilds your home.

What happens next

1. Walkthrough. We visit the home, look at every affected room and take photos and measurements. We also review the drying company's documentation so the rebuild lines up with what was removed.
2. Estimate. We write a detailed reconstruction estimate room by room. On insurance claims, we build that scope to the carrier's approved estimate and send documentation to the adjuster when items are missing.
3. Approval. Once the scope of work is approved, a project manager is assigned and we set up a meeting to go over the schedule and your selections.
4. Selections. You pick flooring, paint colors, cabinets or fixtures if anything needs to be replaced.
5. Rebuild. Our crews and trade partners handle drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinets, trim and paint in the right order.
6. Final walkthrough. We walk the home with you and finish any punch list items.

How long does it take?

It depends on how much was removed and how quickly the scope gets approved. A single bathroom or laundry room may take a couple of weeks of on-site work. A kitchen or several rooms can take longer, especially when cabinets or special-order flooring are involved. We give you a realistic schedule once scope is approved and update you as the job moves.

Don't let the open walls sit too long

An open wall cavity or bare subfloor is fine for a short time after drying. Left for months, it invites dust, pests and more wear on the exposed framing. The sooner reconstruction is scheduled, the sooner your home is livable again.
