Rebuilding After a Hidden Pipe Leak in Peachtree City

Slow, hidden leaks often travel farther than they look. Here is what the rebuild involves once the leak is fixed and the home is dry.

Some of the most expensive pipe leaks are the quiet ones. A pinhole in a supply line behind a shower wall, a loose fitting under a vanity or a slow drip from an ice maker line can run for weeks before anyone notices. By the time you see a stain on the ceiling or a soft spot in the floor, the water has usually traveled farther than it looks.

Peridot Assist rebuilds Peachtree City homes after these kinds of leaks. Here is what to expect once the leak is fixed and the home has been dried.

Where hidden leaks show up

  • Bathrooms, where supply lines run inside the wall behind the tub, shower or toilet
  • Kitchens, at the sink supply lines, dishwasher connection and refrigerator water line
  • Laundry rooms, at washer hoses and the valve box in the wall
  • Second floors, where a leak above shows up as a stain on the ceiling below
  • Water heater closets and garages

Water follows framing, subfloor seams and wall cavities. A leak in an upstairs bathroom can affect the ceiling, walls and flooring on the first floor too.

Why the rebuild is often bigger than the leak

Once the plumber fixes the pipe, the drying company opens walls and pulls wet materials so everything can dry. That often means cut drywall, removed baseboards, pulled insulation and sometimes removed flooring or cabinets. Reconstruction replaces all of it, and the finished work has to match the rest of the room.

That matching is where a lot of the work goes. Flooring often runs continuously through several rooms. Paint needs to blend wall to wall. Trim profiles need to match what is already in the house.

What Peridot Assist handles

  • Drywall replacement, tape, finish and texture
  • Insulation in exterior walls and ceilings
  • Flooring: LVP, tile, hardwood and carpet
  • Cabinets and countertops when they had to come out
  • Baseboard, casing and door trim
  • Paint, plumbing fixture reset and final cleaning

When items like a vanity or toilet can be reused, we detach and reset them. When they can't, we replace them to match.
