Older-home pipe leak rebuilds · Griffin, GA

Rebuilding older Griffin homes after a pipe leak, so the repair disappears.

Griffin's older homes have tall ceilings, wide trim, hardwood floors and plaster walls, and aging plumbing to go with them. When a pipe lets go, we rebuild the rooms to match what was already there.

Older homes need a rebuild that matches.

Galvanized supply lines, older copper, cast iron drains and tub valves inside the wall all leak more as they age, and Griffin has plenty of houses old enough for it. The drying company opens the walls and floors. What goes back in has to look like it belongs in a house built decades ago, not like a patch.

That is the part most contractors get wrong. Standard baseboard is shorter than what is in your house. Off-the-shelf flooring does not match original hardwood. New drywall is a different thickness than plaster. We match existing trim profiles or have them milled, replace individual hardwood boards and refinish so the repair blends in, and float new wall sections to meet the old surface.

We hold Georgia GC license GCCO008663 and work across Griffin and Spalding County, on insurance jobs and on renovations with no claim at all.

What the rebuild includes

Matching what is already in the house.

The details that make a repair in an older home disappear.

Trim & baseboard

Tall baseboard, wide casing and custom profiles matched to the existing pieces, or milled to order when the profile is no longer stocked.

Hardwood floors

Boards the water reached are replaced individually and the floor is refinished so there is no visible patch.

Plaster & older drywall

New sections floated to the thickness and texture of the surrounding wall, with ceilings matched the same way.

Doors & hardware

Original doors, hinges and knobs are detached, protected and reset wherever they can be saved.

Plumbing while the walls are open

If you want the rest of the galvanized or cast iron replaced while it is accessible, we price it as a separate change order so you can decide.

Insurance scope & supplements

Older homes often need items a standard estimate misses, like taller baseboard or matching hardwood. We document them for the adjuster with photos and measurements.

We do not perform water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, smoke or odor treatment, or emergency board-up. That work is completed by licensed specialty firms before we begin. We start once a property has been dried, cleared, and released for rebuild.

Common questions

Griffin questions, answered.

Can you match the trim in my older home?
Yes. We match existing profiles where they are available and have trim milled when they are not.
Can original hardwood be saved after a leak?
Often, yes. Boards that cupped or stained are replaced individually and the floor is refinished so the repair blends in. Badly buckled sections may need a larger patch.
My walls are plaster. Will the patch show?
Not if it is done right. We float new sections to meet the plaster thickness and match the texture before paint.
Should I replace old plumbing while the walls are open?
It is a good time to consider it. We price that work on a separate change order so you can decide.
Do you take on renovations without an insurance claim?
Yes. We do whole-house renovations, kitchens and bathrooms for Griffin homeowners.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Peridot Assist holds Georgia General Contractor License GCCO008663.
