Kitchen leaks go straight into base cabinets and under the flooring. Here is how the kitchen gets rebuilt, and how upgrades fit in.
The kitchen has more water connections than almost any other room. A sink supply line, a dishwasher hose, a refrigerator water line or a garbage disposal can all leak, and the water usually goes straight into the base cabinets and under the flooring. For Newnan homeowners, a kitchen leak can turn into one of the bigger rebuilds in the house.
During drying, base cabinets are often pulled so the wall and floor behind them can dry. Countertops may have to come off with them.
Kitchen reconstruction has a lot of moving parts. A sink alone involves the cabinet, countertop, faucet, supply lines, P-trap, disposal and dishwasher connection. Peridot Assist breaks the scope out item by item so nothing gets missed.
A typical order of work:
When cabinets or countertops can be reused, we detach and reset them. When they can't, we replace them to match what is there.
Matching existing cabinets can be tricky, especially in older kitchens or when a style has been discontinued. Many homeowners use the rebuild as a chance to upgrade, like new cabinet fronts, a different countertop or new flooring throughout.
On insurance jobs, upgrades are handled on a separate change order. For items already in your carrier's approved estimate, you pay only the difference between the approved item and your upgrade. That keeps the numbers clear and lets you decide what is worth it.
